Sheckler Excavating is looking for high quality, goal driven employees to fill our Project Manager position.


The Project Manager is responsable for all aspects of planning an excution of assigned project. This position works closely with project superintendents, owners, engineers and cosntruction managers. The project Manger creates clear and attainable project objectives while keeping a focus on quality, cost and time. 

Main Job Tasks & Responsibilities

- Estimating

- Detailed takeoffs

- Ensure job safety

-Scheduling of projects

- Managing subcontractors and material cost

-Manage multiple projects at one time

- manage project scope changes, subcontractors and payment applications

- Communicate with owners and their representatives regarding budget, schedules, change order management and marketing 

- Follow project budgets

-Communicate project goals

- Understand and manage changes including RFI's, notifications and documentation

-Coordinate with local officials and obtain permits

-Coordinate project close out

-Assists in coordinating the scheduling of equipment, materials, subcontractors and supervision
-Schedules and facilitates meetings with owners, engineers and construction management as well as prepares and distributes meeting minutes
-Responsible for project Take Off (specifications, schedules, activities, crews, materials)
-Understands and actively promotes the company’s various services in anticipation of selling to both current and newly obtained customers
-Takes an active approach in obtaining new customers
- Maintains project quality and conformance to drawings and specifications
-Participates in performance reviews for Assistant Project Managers and supervision
-Acquires Waste and Borrow Agreements
-Coordinates test holes both prior to bidding and during construction
-Runs ‘Pre-Job’, ‘Mid-Job’ and ‘Post-Job’ meetings
-Maintains current ‘As-Builts’ and manages project close outs
-Handles responsibilities of Assistant Project Manager in the event of absence
-Maintains positive relationships both publically and professionally in and outside of the work place
-Presents professional behavior and appearance
-Other tasks as assigned


Skills & Requirements

- Possesses a thorough knowledge of and willingness to learn all aspects of construction

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Strong computer and software proficiency

-Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere

-Scheduling software experience a plus

Education and Experience

Minimum 10 years supervisory or equivalent experience in similar type of construction
